In the music track we will lead you to hone your skills, create, innovate, and discover your musical potential.

You will try new things and explore musical collaboration. We will provide mentorship and instruction for all levels of musicians. Vocalists, keyboardists, guitarists, percussionists, songwriters and band instrumentalists, bring it on. We have special guest teachers making appearances all week long and we will be approaching new topics that range from the practical to the bizarre.  We will push you to create and be cheering you on the whole way. Let's make some music!

EXTRAS FOR MUSIC TRACK:

  • Bring the Instrument you play.

Beautiful music is the art of the prophets that can calm the agitations of the soul; it is one of the most magnificent and delightful presents God has given us.

MUSIC TRACK LEADER - JASON NIX

I'm coming at you from Austin, TX.  Along with leading worship, I teach guitar lessons and write and record my own music. “Feel It”, my first album, was released June 2010 followed by the release of my 2nd project, "Deeper Still" in 2011 and full length album "The Wreckage" in 2012.  I have a heart for seeing artists develop and grow in their gifts and calling.

MUSIC TRACK TEACHER - ABBIE SIMMONS

Hey guys, I'm Abbie. I've been a part of ArtLife since 2012, and I'm supah excited to be teaching this year! I lead worship at the Upper Room in Dallas and The Avenue Church in Waxahachie. I work at a cute, little family-owned Farmer's Market, and sing in a local indie rock band, Little Image, with my brother Jackson. I love seeing young hearts using their gifts to bring in the presence of Jesus, and create community. It's kinda my favorite, which is WHY ArtLife is my favorite.

MUSIC TRACK TEACHER - JACKSON SIMMONS

Hey, my name is Jackson and I am super super excited to be teaching in the music track this year! I'm currently living in Dallas TX while working at Houndstooth Coffee, and play/write in a touring band called Little Image. We are in the process of recording our second record that will be released this year. I have a huge heart for watching people express their art for our Heavenly Father. So super stoked to experience and see what He does in everyone's hearts this year at ArtLife!

MUSIC TRACK TEACHER - Ivy Patterson

My name is Ivy. I am in love with creative expression, especially used as an instrument (haha, music track pun) to bring people together. I am currently living in western Alberta with a bunch of lumberjacks and polar bears, but in July of this year I will embark on a new adventure living in Dallas, TX! A lot of my time in Canada has been spent navigating the waters of songwriting. In 2015, I took part in the creative arts program at Clearwater College, and have since then released some of my own music and had the opportunity to write with many other artists. ArtLife has been a significant source of growth and family-building in my life, and I am so thrilled to see and experience more of it with you.

MUSIC TRACK TEACHER - Morgan Williams

I live in the Houston area and I'm beyond excited to be teaching drums in the music track this year at ArtLife. (Yeaahhh, I be puttin work in)
